Since this week more and more people are opening their cottages for the season. So here are some news by sectors…

GRAND-POISSON-BLANC /// LAC NEWTON :

According to the municipality (late March) plans are still going on smoothly on the reduction of the speed limit to 50 km/h near Newton lake.

Plans are still to enlarge the forestry road past the wooden bridge to permit parking for the canoe-camping enthousiasts and no maintenance for the rest of that road.

TRANS-OUTAOUAIS /// MONTÉE JEAN-MARC // CH DE LA SOLITUDE :

Sad news about the closing of the Paugan road. We have send a letter to both municipalities about the opening the Trans-Outaouais earlier and its maintenance as a solution. Both municipalities are talking together.

Good news! Both the municipalities of Denholm and of Lac-Sainte-Marie have approved the installation of tourist information and directions on the Trans-Outaouais this summer. We had send them this request this winter.

The petition of « Association des propriétaires de la baie Newton» will be presented by Daniel Paradis the 17th of May at 7:30 PM at the MRC in Gracefield. If we want to be taken seriously all those concerned should be present.

Bowman:

Sadly, the municipality of Bowman seems hesitant to ameliorate the situation for the owners near the small parking lot. If we want to be pro-active we must convince the «Base de plein-air Air-Eau-Bois» to consider our suggestions as they are the one that could help us solve most of the problems at that sector.
